Annual Report Graphic

Discover Outdoors Foundation, in NYC, had the idea to do their first year’s annual report as a graphical representation instead of as a boring old booklet. I designed it bright, bold and included fun illustrations. It can be used as a web pop-up, a poster, a mailer, or be emailed as an attachment.

A Custom Avatar

My son was having a birthday party and we made him a custom avatar based on Avatar: The Last Airbender for his birthday invitations. I pulled up a graphic from the show and a picture of my son in his uniform and designed this illustration.

Postcard Design

Discover Outdoors Foundation is a new branch of an existing company who was looking for a postcard to capture attention to their new foundation. We didn’t want to have too much copy, mostly a piece to say “here we are” to the world. We used their own photos of a recent event for the back.

Tree Consulting Business Website

A new WordPress website we designed for Shawn Walker with Trees 101. His business is brand new and local – in Harpers Ferry. After creating the logo a few weeks ago, we wanted the website to have a similar organic feel. Having trees as a subject matter made it easy to incorporate his photos into the website.

T-shirt Design for 10K Race

I’ve created these designs each year for the past few years for a race at Clyde’s in Columbia. I decided to go back to a collection of running shoes, similar to a design I did 2 years ago. I like the idea of changing it up each year with different shoes and colors but the same style. I think shoes have a lot of personality!

Wild about Healthy Vision Agenda Book

One of my favorite jobs of 2012 was to illustrate this book for National Eye Institute (NEI). The client wanted an agenda book that was useful to kids, appealed to kids, and taught the kids eye facts with activities and cartoons.

We began by submitting characters for the agenda book. The various submissions were focus tested by kids and selected. Once my characters were chosen, I created illustrations of the two characters, Liam and Isabella, in various poses/angles, different outfits, and some spot illustrations like an eye model. The project was a very quick turnaround (trying to get the books into the schools for the 2012 school year) so the goal was to make the illustrations easy to adjust for various pages. I submitted the illustrations individually and NEI’s design team did the layout of the book.

Logo for Photography by Lindsay

A logo design for a photographer. She wanted her name to stand out and feel personal and unique. As a photographer, we wanted to be sure it was heavy enough that it could stand as a watermark on top of images.

Trifold Brochure for Melissa Swartz

Melissa opened her company in Shepherdstown over the winter. To get her started with marketing, I designed a trifold brochure explaining her counseling services. I wanted the design to be cheerful, inviting, and warm.
